A large part of Chinese culture revolves around food and meals shared with loved ones. Without the typical food chains (e.g. Café de Coral, Maxim’s, Fairwood, etc.) or convenience stores (e.g. 7-Eleven, Circle K, etc.) you may see everywhere in Hong Kong, living in Manchester may seem alien to you.

However, there are delicious restaurants to eat out at, as well as Chinese supermarkets to buy your own ingredients. Most local supermarkets now stock Chinese ingredients as well, such as Asda, Ocado (which combines many known stores, including M&S), Tesco.
